Mid Cumberland Area Development Corp ("MADC")

The Mid Cumberland Area Development Corporation is a quasi governmental entity which is designated by the SBA as a Certified Development Corporation (CDC) to work with small businesses and private lenders, such as banks, in a 13 county area, which includes Dickson County, to initiate loan requests under the SBA's 504 Loan Program. MADC also administers two (2) other loan funds to assist small business development: the Revolving Loan Fund Program and the Intermediary Relending Program per SBA and MADC guidlines.

The SBA is a govenmental agency which provides funding and loan guanantees to small businesses via Certified Development Corporations (CDC) and via other lending intermediaries. SBA has grown in terms of total assistance provided and its array of programs tailored to encourage small enterprises in all areas. SBA's programs now include financial and federal contract procurement assistance, management assistance, and specialized outreach to women, minorities and armed forces veterans. The SBA also provides loans to victims of natural disasters and specialized advice and assistance in international trade.
